AI Camera Tracking Issue: Workaround

Overview

The AI Camera Crew feature automatically tracks and focuses on the speaker in your sermon video. However, in some situations, the AI may lose focus on the main speaker or track the wrong subject.

This article explains why this happens and what you can do to get better results.

Why the AI Camera Crew May Lose Focus

The AI Camera Crew works by detecting people and movement in the video. Sometimes, it may track the wrong subject when:

  • Multiple people are on stage – The AI may detect and follow someone other than the main speaker
  • Equipment is visible in the background – Items like microphone stands, instruments, or stage props may confuse the AI
  • The speaker moves too much or too fast – Rapid movement can cause the AI to lose tracking
  • Camera transitions or cuts occur – The AI Camera Crew is not designed to handle videos with camera angle changes, cuts, or transitions between different shots. It works best with single, continuous camera shots

Important: If your video includes multiple camera angles or cuts between different shots, the AI Camera Crew may not track correctly. For best results, use videos filmed from one continuous camera angle.

Workarounds You Can Use

If you're experiencing tracking issues with the AI Camera Crew, here are two alternatives:

Option 1: Use a Horizontal Template

Choose a horizontal (landscape) template and skip the AI Camera Crew feature. This keeps your full video frame visible without automatic tracking.

Option 2: Use a Vertical Template with Wide Shot

Some vertical templates are designed to show the entire horizontal video within the frame—without cropping or tracking.

How to find them:

  • Filter templates by Vertical
  • Use the tag "Wide Shot"
  • Select a template that fits your content style

Tip: For the best AI Camera Crew results, use videos filmed from a single camera angle without cuts or transitions.
