How To Create Audio-Only Clips

Overview

Sermon Shots automatically extracts audio from your sermon videos and provides it as a downloadable WAV file. This feature is perfect for churches that want to share their sermons on podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Podcasts.

The audio file is the full sermon audio extracted directly from your uploaded video—no editing required!

Which Plans Include Audio Extraction?

The audio extraction feature is available on:

  • Plus Plan and above

  • Platinum Suite

Not available on the Free Plan.

How to Use Your Audio File

For Podcasts

Upload the WAV file directly to your podcast hosting platform:

  • Apple Podcasts (via hosting services like Libsyn, Buzzsprout, or Anchor)
  • Spotify
  • Google Podcasts
  • Other podcast directories

For Your Website

Embed the audio file on your church website so congregants can listen to sermons on-demand.

For Audio-Only Social Media

Convert or use the audio for platforms that support audio content, such as YouTube podcasts or audio posts.

Tips for Best Results

  • Upload High-Quality Video – The better your video quality, the better your audio output will be.
  • Check Audio Levels – Make sure your sermon recording has clear, balanced audio before uploading.
  • Trim Before Uploading – Use the built-in trim feature during upload to remove any unnecessary content (like announcements or pre-service music) before processing.
  • Consistent File Naming – Name your sermons consistently (e.g., "Sermon Title - Date") so your podcast episodes are organized.

Why Use Audio-Only Files?

  • Reach listeners on the go – Many people prefer audio-only content while driving, exercising, or multitasking.
  • Expand your reach – Podcasts allow people who don't watch videos to engage with your sermons.
  • Save bandwidth – Audio files are smaller and easier to stream than video.
  • Simple distribution – One upload gives you both video clips AND podcast audio.

Troubleshooting

Problem: I don't see an audio download option

  • Make sure you're on a Plus Plan or higher. Audio extraction is not available on the Free Plan.
  • Check that your video has finished processing.

Problem: The audio quality is poor

  • Check the audio quality of your original video. The extracted audio will match the quality of the source.
  • Make sure your microphone and recording setup are optimized before recording your sermon.

Problem: The audio file is too large

  • WAV files are high-quality but larger in size. Most podcast platforms accept WAV files, but you can convert to MP3 if needed using free tools like Audacity.
